2-Tier Through 5-Tier Wall Lockers

Tier count determines compartment size and locker density. Choose the tier that matches your program — larger personal storage for coat programs, higher density for day-use hybrid floors.

Lock Types for Office Wall Lockers

Lock selection drives the user experience of your locker program. We specify the right lock for your access control setup, hybrid ratio, and IT requirements.

01

PIN Combination Lock

4-digit code, no key or fob required. Self-service reset. The most common choice for day-use hybrid programs — zero management overhead, no lost keys, no assignment needed.

02

RFID / Fob Lock

Tap to unlock with a building access card or fob. Integrates with existing access control infrastructure. Audit trail available. Common in financial services and healthcare buildings.

03

Keyed Lock

Traditional keyed cylinder lock for assigned programs. Master key available for facilities management. Reliable, battery-free, maintenance-light — preferred for clinical and coat locker programs.

04

Push-Button Mechanical

Keyless, battery-free mechanical combination lock. User sets their own code on the spot. Popular for day-use programs that need simplicity without battery management.

NYP's Hudson Yards facility required wall lockers that matched the building's premium architectural finish standard. Standard metal lockers were explicitly out. We specified floor-to-ceiling natural oak woodgrain panels with flush hardware and push-button mechanical locks — reliable, battery-free, and wipe-down clean for a clinical environment.

The result reads as a built-in millwork feature rather than locker equipment. The project is a strong example of what's possible when locker specification starts with the design intent of the space rather than a product catalog.

Wall Lockers for Office — Common Questions

What are office wall lockers?
Office wall lockers are locker banks installed against a wall — typically floor-to-ceiling — providing the maximum locker count per linear foot of wall space. Heights range from 54 inches (counter-height) to 84 inches (full-height), with 2 to 5 tiers of locker compartments per column.
What is the standard height for office wall lockers?
The most common office wall locker heights are 72 inches (6 feet) and 78 inches (6.5 feet) for full-height installations. Counter-height wall lockers run 48–54 inches. Ceiling-height custom units can be specified up to 108 inches for spaces with tall ceilings.
How wide is a locker column?
Standard locker columns are 12 or 15 inches wide. Wider columns (18 inches) are available for coat lockers or programs requiring more horizontal space. Most office locker programs use 12-inch-wide columns for high-density storage.
What is the difference between 2-tier, 3-tier, and 4-tier lockers?
Tier count refers to how many locker compartments are stacked vertically in a single column. A 2-tier locker provides two larger compartments — suitable for coats and bags. A 3-tier locker provides three medium compartments — the most common office standard. A 4-tier locker provides four compact compartments — suited for personal items only.
Can office wall lockers be used for day-use hybrid programs?
Yes. Wall lockers work well for both assigned and day-use programs. For hybrid offices, 3-tier or 4-tier wall lockers with PIN combination or RFID locks are common — employees claim an available locker each day with no assignment or key management needed.
How do I calculate how many wall lockers I need?
For hybrid offices at 60–70% occupancy, a ratio of 0.65 lockers per desk seat is standard. For fully assigned programs, match one locker per employee. A 20-foot wall can typically accommodate 20 columns of 12-inch-wide lockers, providing 60 locker compartments in a 3-tier configuration.
